Our Story

Too Pretty to Eat

Edible Art Specialty Cakes & Cookies started in a small home kitchen in the piney woods of East Texas. While raising her daughter, Debbie leaned on her skills as an artist and cake decorator to celebrate her daughter's birthdays and other special occasions. Guests were amazed at the skills she had refined in her home, and slowly but surely, her beautiful cake designs were soon recognized as "edible art," and the business was born.

Word spread of Debbie's incredible work, and she was soon noticed by members of the community, who returned for her custom work more and more frequently. The volume was exciting, but proved overwhelming when Debbie and her family realized that their home could not contain her "little" dream any longer.

The business needed a building.

She discovered an old, dilapidated building on South Street in Longview, Texas: the "It'll Do Tavern." Debbie and the old tavern saved each other, and she has since spent over a decade growing the building into a fast-paced bakery with a reputation for irresistible sweetness.

Edible Art Specialty Cakes & Cookies has since completed 2 remodels, added on to its original building, added a mobile food truck, and now seeks to expand yet again with a larger facility that can house not just Debbie's dream, but also provide other budding entrepreneurs with a starting place for their culinary dreams.

At Edible Art, we consider it a privilege to be invited to participate in your most precious moments.

Each dessert that leaves our doors tells a story, and we are proud to be a part of those stories with you.
