Too Pretty to Eat
Edible Art Specialty Cakes & Cookies was born in a small home kitchen in the piney woods of Longview, Texas. It all began with Debbie creating birthday cakes for her daughter, Mykayla, and then for her elementary classmates soon after.
Word spread of Debbie's incredible work, and she was soon noticed by the Longview Ballet. She suddenly found herself knee-deep in several hundred "Swan Lake" cookies, and her business was born.
But there was one problem: the business needed a building.
Debbie soon discovered an old building in Longview: the "It'll Do Tavern," and has since spent over a decade growing it into a fast-paced bakery with a reputation for irresistible sweetness.
At Edible Art, we consider it a privilege to be invited to participate in your most precious moments.
Each dessert that leaves our doors tells a story, and we are proud to be a part of those stories with you.
Debbie is the Design Consultant who does it all. Let's just say she is the brains of this operation. She is the glue that holds our team in place, and dotes on each of her teammates. Each one of the designers contributes in a very special way, but this lady is and always will be the visionary and the heart of Edible Art!
Team Leader and fabulous baker, this lady has 20+ years of experience in a kitchen. If you can dream it, Sharlene can make it! She brings much talent to our studio. Life is about second chances, and Sharlene's life is an inspiration and testimony to us all. She is unstoppable in the kitchen and one of the fastest learners who has ever come aboard. We are so blessed that Sharlene has joined our Design Team.
Cake Designer, sculpting artist, cookie artist and customer service representative; Alisha does it all. This young lady watches and learns everything the the first try. Alisha is currently an avid video game player and Kilgore College graduate with goals of someday operating her own bakery. We have enjoyed watching Alisha grow into a mega-talented power house!
Reina is a phenomenal artist who we are excited to have on the Design Team. She is a young lady with top-notch decorating skills. A fine decorator with many creative cakes, cookies and other desserts mastered at such a young age; when she gets started, things get wild! Reina has experienced so much in the baking world. We are so thankful that she walked through our doors with such passion, talent, and positivity.
The true definition of passion, Keely joined our Design Team as a Pastry Chef from Del Mar College in Corpus, Christi, TX. She is always happy to step into the kitchen, and we are thrilled to have her. Keely reminds us daily how truly unique and wonderful our artwork is at Edible Art. It's true what they say: choose a job you love, and you'll never work a day in your life.
This could be you! We are always seeking talented culinary artist and gourmet bakers.
Computer Tech & all around nice guy! In addition to providing a wonderful sense of humor, he keeps our technology up to date with everything from printers to computers and even our Square. Tim is our go-to for all forms of technical communication and fun sarcasm. Our Design Team runs smoothly because of his technological mastery.
Meet Your Design Team
IF YOU CAN DREAM IT, WE CAN DESIGN IT
Jack of all trades, master of customer service! Mykayla is our beloved Texas Tech college student who jumps onto the Design Team at every opportunity. She is young, but her people skills are not to be underestimated. She is always one step ahead, finding where she is needed before we do. Santa has elves, but Edible Art has Mykayla.
Edible Art Van
Treats on wheels! The Edible Art van is as much a part of the team as the rest of us. Without this van, we wouldn't have the opportunity to deliver our delightful sweets right to your door. When you see this van around Longview & the East Texas area, there is probably cookie gifts and cakes on board!
This spot is reserved for you!
We are always scouting for talented artists who have a positive attitude. Those that enjoy working happy and are not afraid of hard work, sweet sugar and supreme customer service are always welcome. Experience is a plus, as well as creativity, efficiency and great customer service, but a positive "can do" attitude is a must!
Resumes and applications can be dropped off in person at 504 W. South Street Longview, TX.
